Nimach, or Neemuch, is a city steeped in history, located in the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. It shares its northwestern border with Rajasthan, making it a strategic location. The city is known for its historical significance as a former British cantonment, which was once part of the Gwalior princely state. In 1822, it became the headquarters of the combined Rajputana–Malwa political agency, and later, the Malwa Agency in 1895. Although the British cantonment was disbanded in 1932, the city retains its historical charm and serves as the administrative headquarters of Neemuch District.
Neemuch is well-connected by road and rail, making it accessible from major cities in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
