Rokkaku-do is a charming hexagonal temple situated on an island within Lake Kawaguchi in Fujikawaguchiko. Originally constructed in the 1200s and rebuilt in the 1500s after flooding, this site offers a peaceful escape with some of the most sought-after views of Mt. Fuji. When the lake's water levels are low, visitors can walk across the exposed bed to reach the island. While the interior of the temple is not open to the public, the exterior and the surrounding landscape provide a perfect backdrop for photography, especially for capturing the 'Double Fuji' reflection on the water.

Rokkaku-do is highly regarded by visitors for its unique location and the exceptional views it provides of Mt. Fuji. Many reviewers highlight the novelty of being able to walk to the temple island during periods of low water levels, which allows for a closer look at the historic structure. The site is noted for its historical roots, with signs explaining its 13th-century origins and subsequent 16th-century reconstruction. While visitors are not permitted to enter the temple itself, the large windows allow for a glimpse inside. Some travelers mention that the walk from the nearby bridge is short and worthwhile, even when clouds partially obscure the mountain. It is frequently recommended as a top spot for photography, particularly for those looking to capture the mountain's reflection on the lake.
