The park is a treasure trove of natural beauty and history, home to Queensland's oldest operating lighthouse at Cape Moreton and significant WWII relics in the township of Cowan. In 2021, the park was renamed to honor the Quandamooka People, reflecting the spiritual importance of its iconic sand hills. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities, including bushwalking through native landscapes, fishing, and various watersports. During late winter and spring, the surrounding waters become a hotspot for spotting migrating Humpback whales, adding a spectacular wildlife element to any visit.
